Channahon prevailed behind stellar defense and pitching while pounding out 13 hits. At the plate, Jackson Shepherd led the attack going 2-3 (double, triple; 3RBIs), Brandon Brodzinski 2-2 (2 singles; 2RBIs), John Wheaton 2-2 (triple, single; RBI), Johnny Carnagio doubled in 2RBIs. Jake Bugajski, Derek Malone, Danny Beaudin, Drew Turek (RBI), Logan O'Brien (RBI) and Hunter Nelson contributed key hits. On the mound, Jonny Butler (2IP); John Wheaton (2IP) and Hunter Nelson (1IP). Hard fought game in rainy conditions. Channahon trailed most of the game then rallied to take a 9-8 lead in the top of the 6th before the late game heroics of Steve Smock's walk-off 3-run HR. At the plate for Channahon, Nick Airola led the attack with a pair of triples while Drew Tureks singled and tripled. Alex Roop contributed 2 hits. Hunter Nelson, Brandon Brodzinski, Danny Beaudin, John Wheaton and Jake Bugajski added hits. On the mound for Channahon was Hunter Nelson (2IP); Alex Roop (2IP) and John Wheaton (2IP).

A well played game by both teams. Channahon jumped to an early 6-0 lead behind a 6 hit first inning. At the plate, Jackson Shepherd went 2-3 (doube, single; 2RBIs), Nick Airola tripled in 2RBIs, Jonny Butler went 2-3 (double, single; 2RBIs) while Drew Turek and Johnny Carnagio doubled in runs and Alex Roop added a single. Combining for the win was Jackson Shepherd (2IP); Derek Malone (2IP) and Nick Airola (2IP). Frankfort Square was led by Berger and Blaney with 2 hits. Prestamer, Gasner, Bonomo and Morgan added nice hits.

Friday, May 29th

For Channahon, Derek Malone led with 3 hits (1B,2B,3B;2RBIs); Jonny Butler went 2-3 (1B,2B; 2RBIs); Jackson Shepherd 2-3 (2 singles; 2RBIs) while Danny Beaudin and Logan O'Brien added a key base hits to drive in runs. Hunter Nelson singled and scored a run and Brandon Brodzinski and Zack Kijowski added key hits to keep innings alive in this close game. Six Channahon pitchers combined for the win (Beaudin, Malone, Wheaton, Butler, Shepherd and Carnagio). For Wilmington, Steve Smock led with 2 hits. For Channahon, Zack Kijowski doubled and singled while Jonny Butler and Derek Malone added RBI base hits. On the mound for Channahon was Jackson Shepherd (3IP), Butler (1IP) and Johnny Carnagio (2IP). Team Sharp was led by Matt Callahan with 2 hits. Walker Whalen added a hit and 2RBIs. This game featured a little bit of everything and in the end was good learning experience for our team. Four balk calls and ten free passes to go with some poor defensive play turned the momentum toward Victory after Channahon jumped to an early lead. At the plate, Derek Malone led with 2 doubles and a run scored. Danny Beaudin and John Wheaton added key hits. On the mound for Channahon was Johnny Carnagio, Danny Beaudin and Jackson Shepherd.

Derek Malone and Jonathan Butler combined to pitch a perfect game facing the minimum 12 batters in this 4 inning game. At the plate, Jackson Shepherd led with 3 hits (1B,2B,1B; 2RBIs); Danny Beaudin tripled with 3RBIs; Zack Kijowski singled in 2 runs while Jonny Butler, Derek Malone, and Drew Turek added run producing hits. Hunter Nelson reached base twice and scored on a perfectly executed squeeze bunt by Jonny Butler.

Danny Beaudin and Jake Bugajski had run producing hits while Nick Airola and Hunter Nelson added key hits to keep innings alive. Danny Beaudin ended the game with a walk-off 3-run HR bomb over the right field fence. Johnny Carnagio, Derek Malone, Logan O'Brien, John Wheaton, Jake Bugajski and Zack Kijowski added key hits. Channahon pitchers faced 13 batters in the 4 innings while striking 9 batters and yielding no hits and no walks. A superbly played game by both teams. Sportworxx was averaging 18 runs per game coming into the semifinals. Behind outstanding pitching and stellar defense, Channahon was able keep Sportworxx scoreless until the bottom of the 6th inning when Sportworxx scratched across 2 earned runs to tie the game and send it into extra innings. At the plate for Channahon, Brandon Brodzinski (single), John Wheaton (single), Logan O'Brien (single) and Drew Turek (single, RBI) recorded the only hits. On the mound for Channahon was Jackson Shepherd (2IP); Jonny Butler (2IP); Danny Beaudin (2IP); Derek Malone (1IP).
