This was a close game thru 3 innings that featured good pitching and some stellar defense. Channahon pulled away behind timely hitting and solid pitching. John Wheaton led the attack going 3-4 (2 singles, double, 2Rs, 4RBIs); Matt Brozovich homered to left and went 3-4 (2 singles, HR, 2Rs, 2RBIs); Johnny Carnagio 2-3 (2 singles, 3Rs, RBI); Jonny Butler 2-3 (single, double, RBI); Jackson Shepherd 1-2 (doubled, 3Rs, RBI); Nick Airola 1-2 (doubled, 1Rs, RBI); and Drew Turek added a hit.
Hunter Nelson reached on an error and stole 3 bases on consecutive pitches to score a run. Channahon pitchers combined to allow 3 hits for the win. On the mound was Johnny Carnagio (2IP, 2Rs); Derek Malone (2IP; 2Rs) and Jackson Shepherd (1IP). For Minooka, Owen Hutto, Schultz and Schmanski had hits. Channahon 14, Frankfort Eagles 2
Channahon completed their 5-0 run through the tournament to win the 9U championship at Frankfort. At the plate, Johnny Carnagio (double), Jonny Butler, Jackson Shepherd led with 2 hits. Nick Airola tripled. Matt Brozovich smashed a single to drive in 2 runs while Danny Beaudin ripped a double driving in a run. On the mound, Jackson Shepherd (2IP), Derek Malone (1IP) and Jonny Butler (1IP) combined for the win allowing 5 hits; 1BB and 6Ks.
Sunday, July 13th: Frankfort Tournament Semi-Finals
Channahon 6, Palos 5
Channahon jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning behind Jackson Shepherd's run scoring triple and Matt Brozovich's run scoring double. Palos fought back to score 5 runs in the top of the 3rd to take the lead. Channahon rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the fourth inning sparked by key hits from Derek Malone, Matt Brozovich and Johnny Carnagio's 2RBI double. In the bottom on the sixth, Channahon was sparked by Jackson Shepherd and Johnny Carnagio base hits and John Wheaton drove in Shepherd with a base hit to win the game. On the mound for Channahon was Johnny Carnagio (3IP), Jonny Butler (1IP) and Jackson Shepherd (2IP).

Well played game by both teams. Channahon pitchers combined on a 2 hitter to get the win. For Channahon, Nick Airola led with 2 hits (2 singles; RBI), Matt Brozovich homered and Johnny Carnagio added a 2RBI triple. Sunday, July 6th: Troy 4th of July Tournament Championship Game
Sportsworx (IND) 12, Channahon 10
Championship game of the 9U bracket. This was a hard fought game by both teams that featured a total of 28 hits by both teams. Channahon jumped to an early 7-0 lead but Sportsworx answered back by taking advantage of fielding mistakes and timely hitting to take the lead back. Channahon responded by scoring 3 more runs in the 5/6th innings and had the go ahead runs on base when the game ended.

Channahon set the tempo of this game behind the solid pitching of Jackson Shepherd and Johnny Butler. They combined to allow 1 hit and 2 unearned runs for the win. Channahon 16, Whiteford 16
This game had a little bit of everything - great hitting; solid pitching; spectacular defensive plays and some not so spectacular defense. Channahon jumped out to an early 10-1 lead behind a 10 run first inning only to watch Whiteford storm back with a 10 run inning of their own in the 4th to take a 16-14 lead. Channahon responded by scoring 2 runs to tie the game in their half of the 4th inning and the game was called due to time limit. For Channahon, at the plate Jackson Shepherd went 2-3 (2 triples, 5RBIs); Johnny Butler 3-3 (3 singles; RBI); Jake Bugajski 2-2 (2 singles, 3RBIs); Logan O'Brien 2-2 (2 singles, 2RBIs); Matt Brozovich drove in 2 runs. John Wheaton, Danny Beaudin (double; RBI), and Hunter Nelson added hits. On the mound for Channahon was Jackson Shepherd, John Wheaton and Johnny Butler.
