Thursday, July 17th: Home 7U Tournament
Channahon 10, Minooka 0
First game under the lights for Channahon and the sticks were out. Scoring 7 in the third inning Channahon took an 8-0 lead. Hitting for Channahon Brad Sample 3-3 (one homerun), Austin Markee 2-3 (triple), Nick Lappin, Kade Turner, Matt Holmes, Julian Fernandez & Shane O'Brien added hits. Great pitching tonight for the shutout Julian Fernandez, Kade Turner, Brad Sample & Matt Holmes. Key defensive play in the sixth inning by Zach Panozzo double play at third.
Tuesday, July 15th: Homer 7U Tournament
Channahon 7, Palos 5
Once again for the third time in a week we played Palos, this was the best game of all. In a very close game Channahon pulled out the victory. Starting fast in the first inning Channahon scored 5 with 7 hits leading the way were back to back doubles by Brad Sample & Matt Holmes. Kade Turner pitched two great innings and also went 3 for 3. Julian Fernandez pitched two innings and also added two hits. Closing the game for the last two innings giving up no runs and four K's was Brad Sample. The defensive MVP for Channahon was Nicole Kijowski with key plays at second base. Great game by both teams.
Saturday, July 12th: Whiteford 7U Tournament
Minooka 11, Channahon 7
For Minooka the offense was led by Justin Conant, Zach Stoner and Brandon Banks-all had 2 hits. Joe Bulger had a great catch in centerfield for the defensive play of the game. On the mound Brandon Banks (4K's), Nick Daniel, Zach Stoner and Justin Conant (5K's) all pitched well in the victory. Channahon was led by Brad Sample, Kade Turner and Matt Holmes on the mound and Seth Joder scored 2 runs.
Channahon 14, Palos 4
Channahon started the first inning with a bang getting 6 hits and four runs. The big shot by Brad Sample 3 run home run over the fence. Channahon wins third place on a great offensive game. Congrats
Sunday, July 6th: Troy 4th of July Tournament Championship Game
Channahon 12, Plainfield 7
Plainfield came out hitting early with four runs in the first inning. Starting the third the Channahon bats were back scoring five to take the lead, three more in the fourth and four more in the sixth. This was again a total team effort. Nick Lappin 2for3, Brad Sample 3for4, Matt Holmes 2for4, Shane O'Brien 1for4, Julian Fernandez 2for3 Austin Markee 1for3. Big defensive plays all over but one big catch by Paul Jones. Pitching in this second game of the day was key with Dylan Peterson, Kade Turner, Brad Sample, Matt Holmes & Julian Fernandez way to dig deep on a hot day and come up big with your first tournament CHAMPIONSHIP! Three comeback wins in a row GREAT JOB and CONGRATS!
Sunday, July 6th: Troy 4th of July Tournament Semi-Finals
Channahon 7, Whiteford 5
In the Semifinal game pitching was out standing with the score 0-0 after four Whiteford scored five quick runs. With Channahon trailing 5-0 in the top of the sixth the comeback kids do it again! Scoring five runs in the sixth key hits were Brad Sample another bases loaded triple than later in the inning two RBI double by Matt Holmes. After Matt Holmes held Whiteford down in the sixth Channahon's bats continued to stay hot scoring 2 in the extra inning key leadoff triple by Austin Markee. On the mound to close the door was Julian Fernandez. Great game by both teams.
Friday, July 4th: Troy 4th of July Tournament
Channahon 12, Ridge Beverly 11
Comeback kids do it again. Trailing 11 to 3 in the bottom of the sixth inning Channahon sent 12 batters to the plate to score 9 for the victory. This was a total team victory and proves it is never over until it is over. In the sixth Kade Turner, Brad Sample and Dylan Peterson had TWO hits each. Great comeback Boys!
Thursday, July 3rd: Troy 4th of July Tournament
Channahon 6, Whiteford 5
This was the best game of defense we may see. For Channahon Seth Joder and Shane O'Brien made big plays in the outfield along with multiple plays at first by Kade Turner. Leading Channahon with the bats were Nick Lappin, Kade Turner & Brad Sample going 2 for 3. Hitting for Whiteford was Brooke Brodzinski 2 for 3. Pitching a great game for Channahon were Dylan Peterson, Brad Sample & Matt Holmes. In the top of the sixth with bases loaded in a 6-5 game Matt Holmes struckout the last batter to win the game. Great game by both teams!!!
Tuesday, July 1st: Troy 4th of July Tournament
Channahon 8, Troy 10
This game was close the entire way. Hitting for the win was Troy's Max McCollum going 3-3 single, double and over the fence homerun. Hitting for Channahon was Brad Sample 1-2 and a walk also Paul Jones with a key double. Congats to Troy on the victory.
