Round 3 in the battle of heavyweights. After splitting the first two games it all came down to one final game with the winner moving on to tha Oak Park Bronco Region and still keeping their chances on winning a trip to the World Series in California alive. The temps again reached into the mid-ninties and it was a rematch of ace pitchers from both Whiteford and Channahon, Tesch vs. Butler- round 2. Channahon got on the board first scoring 2 runs (Devine, Rumsey)in the second on hits by Doster and Akers. Whiteford got on the board with a Tesch homerun in the 3rd cutting the lead in half 2-1 after 3 innings. In the fourth Channahon's Parzych hit a solo homerun to centerfield to extend the lead to 3-1 after 4. In the fifth Channahon put 3 more up on Tesch with a Butler 2 run homerun and Devine scored on a Roberts fielders choice. Whiteford answered with two of thier own with four consecutive hits by Pirc, Baker, Tesch and Ornelas making the score 6-3 after five. In the sixth Zach Akers scored for Channahon on a pastball and Whiteford was held in the bottom half of the inning making the score 7-3 Channahon. The seventh inning Joe Butler led off the inning with a homerun to rightfield off of Tesch to make the score 8-3 but Whiteford never gave up. In the bottom of the seventh Whiteford scored 4 runs (3 run homer for Ornelas) and had the tieing run on second with two outs when Butler was able to force a pop-up to the second baseman to end the game. Channahon wins the Troy Section 8-7 over Whiteford in the battle of state powerhouses. Whiteford's Tesch pitched into the seventh allowing 8 runs on 9 hits, had 4 strikeouts and walked 6 while Channahon's Butler allowed 7 runs on 9 hits, struckout 10 and walk just 2 batters. Channahon- Good Luck at the Oak Park Region!

Saturday, July 17th: Bronco 12U Section Tournament at Troy

This was a very hot day (95 degrees) and Channahon had to battle back through the lossers bracket to get another chance at Whiteford. Channahon was able to score four in the first and never looked back in a 7-1 win. Jacob Doster pitched a complete game allowing 1 run on 2 hits, 3 strikeouts and 5 walks for the win. Minooka hitters were Stang and Close. Channahon hitters were led by Tyler Fitzgerald and Danny Devine both had 2 hits followed by Joe Butler Blake Parzych, Patrick Rumsey, Zach Troutman and Zach Akers with one. Channahon eliminates Minooka and advances to play Whiteford.

Channahon 17, Whiteford 5
Round two in a battle of heavyweights with Channahon on the verge of being eliminated with a loss in this game. This was Channahon's second game of the day again with the temps still in the mid-ninties. Channahon came out on fire scoring 3 in the first, 6 in the second (Blake Parzych 2 run homerun) while only allowing Whiteford to score 2 in 2 innings. Channahon scored two more in the fifth on a Danny Devine homerun with Joe Butler on base. Whiteford added two of their own to make the score 11-4 after five. In the sixth Channahon added to their lead with six more runs as they batted around. Whiteford added one run but it wasn't enough, Channahon wins by the mercy rule 17-5 in six innings. Channahon pitcher of record, Larry Roberts, pitched a complete game victory allowing 5 runs on 12 hits, 7 strikeouts and walking just 4. Whitefords hitters were Pirc, Baker, Tesch(2), Ornelas(3), Burnetta, Purcell, and Young. Channahon hitters were able to get to all four of Whiteford's

Friday, July 16th: Bronco 12U Section Tournament at Troy
Whiteford 5, Channahon 4
This was a great game played by both teams in a battle of two of the areas best. Whiteford and Channahon both wanting the win pitched their best against one another. Tesch vs. Butler and it was all everyone thought it would be, after 3 complete it was a tie game 1-1. Channahon went to Danny Devine in relief against Tesch who continued on and Whiteford was able to jump out to a 3-2 lead after 5 innings. Channahon brought in Tyler Fitzgerald for the sixth against Tesch who was still going strong. After six complete innings Channahon trailed by one 4-3. In the top of the seventh Channahon was able to tie the game against Tesch but in the bottom half of the seventh Whiteford was able to push a run across to get the win in a great game 5-4. Hitters for Whiteford were Pirc (2), Pursell, Marconi and Young. Channahon hitters were Jon McAsey (2), Danny Devine, Larry Roberts and Patrick Rumsey.

Monday, July 12th: Bronco 12U Section Tournament at Troy
Channahon wins by forfeit over Minooka - Minooka chose to finish a previous tournament and had to forfeit against Channahon.

Sunday, July 11th: Homer 12U All Star Tournament Championship
Channahon 12U All Stars 11, Bolingbrook Blazers 1
Tyler Fitzgerald pitched 4 scoreless innings and Zach Aklers allowed 1 run in his closing role in the fifth to win the Homer 12U All Star Tournament. Danny Devine (double), Blake Parzych (2 doubles), Larry Roberts, Jacob Doster and Zach Troutman all had 2 hits each in the win. Adding 1 hit each were Jon McAsey, Tyler Fitzgerald, Joe Butler and Patrick Rumsey. Congrats on your win!

Sunday, July 11th: Homer 12U All Star Tournament Semi-Finals

Larry Roberts and Jacob Doster combined to pitch the win to advance Channahon into the tournament finals. Channahon players with multi-hit games were Jon McAsey, Tyler Fitzgerald (double), Joe Butler (triple), Danny Devine (2 doubles)and Jacob Doster. Blake Parzych (homerun), Patrick Rumsey (double) and Zach Troutman also each added hits in the win.

Saturday, July 10th: Homer 12U All Star Tournament

Joe Butler 2-IP 0 hits, 5 strikeouts, 2 walks and Danny Devine 1-IP 0 hits, 2 strikeouts, 0 walks pitched the no-hit win. Joe Butler, Zach Akers and Jacob Doster all had 2 hits each, with Tyler Fitzgerald, Danny Devine, Blake Parzych, Patrick Rumsey and Zach Troutman each had one. Channahon advances to the semi-finals.

Thursday, July 8th: Homer 12U All Star Tournament

Larry Roberts 3-IP, 6 runs on 7 hits w/2 strikeouts and 0 walks and Danny Devine 3-IP 0 runs on 1 hit, 2 walks and 8 strikeouts were the winning pitchers for Channahon. Nico White led all Channahon hitters with three followed by Zach Troutman, Tyler Fitzgerald (homerun), Joe Butler and Larry Roberts which all added two. Danny Devine, Blake Parzych and Patrick Rumsey also had a hit each in the win.

Wednesday, July 7th: Homer 12U All Star Tournament

Jacob Doster and Tyler Fitzgerald pitched a one hit win with 9 strikeouts and 3 walks. Channhahon was led by Tyler Fitzgerald 2-2, Danny Devine 2-2 w/homerun and 3 RBI's, and Blake Parzych 2-2 w/double. Also having hits were Jon McAsey, Patrick Rumsey (double), Zach Akers, Jacob Doster (double), Nico White and Bryce Dixon.
